Recreation:

January:

  • Open gym, Sundays from 3 - 5 p.m.
  • Cards Basketball for students in grades K - 4

February:

  • Open gym, Sundays from 3 - 5 p.m.
  • After School Dodgeball for students in grades 3 - 4
  • Sports Sampler for students in grades K - 2
  • Floor Hockey for students in grades 3 - 4
  • Beginners Karate for kids age 6 and older, session two.

March:

  • Open gym, Sundays from 3 - 5 p.m.
  • Beginners Karate for kids age 6 and older, session three.
  • Intermediate Karate for kids.  This is for students who have completed two sessions of the Beginners Karate.

April:

  • Pre-School Saturday T-Ball for kids ages 3 - 5, not yet in Kindergarten.  This activity will take place in Maple Lake
  • Baseball Spring Training for students in grades K - 4 on Saturday mornings.  This activity will take place in Maple Lake

May:

  • Young Cards Baseball (After School) for students in grades K - 4

Enrichment

January:

  • ACT Prep Workshop for students preparing to take the ACT tests.

February:

  • Be Your Own Author for students in grades 1 - 4. Instructor: Traci Heidebrink.
  • Science Explorer's Super Structures for students in grades 2 - 6
  • Babysitting Training, Recommended for children ages 11 and older.
  • Extreme LEGOS: Levers for grades K - 3

March:

  • Bead Away the Day for grades 1 – 4.  Instructor: Traci Heidebrink.

April:

  • S.M.A.R.T. (Safety Minded And Response Trained) Kids for student 5 – 7 yrs. old
  • Science Explorer's Crazy Chemistry for grades K - 5
  • Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) for grades 6 - 8
  • Extreme LEGOS: Gears for grades K – 3

May:

  • F.A.S.T. Kids (First Aid Safety Trained Kids) Recommended for children 7 - 10 years old.
  • Father's Day Surprise for students in grades K - 4.  Instructor: Traci Heidebrink. 
  • Mother's Day Surprise for students in grades K - 4.  Instructor: Traci Heidebrink.

Winter:

Coach of Excellence

Do you have a great Coach? Is he/she worthy of recognition? Nominate him/her for the 2011 Community Education Coach of Excellence.

The Coach of Excellence award is given to honor a youth coach for the impact they have on the students and communities they live in as a whole. Annandale-Maple Lake Community Education, in partnership with the Athletic/Activity Departments of Annandale and Maple Lake High Schools, is once again sponsoring the Coach of Excellence Award. The person selected for this award will meet the criteria listed on the nomination form and will be chosen by a panel of peers, staff and students. The selected coach will be recognized at our annual Coaches Appreciation Banquet. Nominations are due by Friday, March 4.
