Communication is one of the most important skills a person develops. Without effective communication skills it is very difficult for a person to learn. Students identified with a communication disorder need to use all means available to make their school and community experiences meaningful.

Educational Speech-Language Pathologists are professionals who serve students with communicative disorders. At the high school level educational speech-language pathologist deal with students that have continuing needs. At this level the goal is to help the student communicate effectively in school and the community. Communication is vital in the work place. We need to help students with communication difficulties learn to express their wants and needs and learn to be their own advocate.

Preparing a student with specific communication difficulties to function independently in the community is our number one goal.
